Literary Societies

Literary societies are, often, a very peculiar manifestation of reader devotion, but some do provide useful information on their respective authors. And whilst most societies' publications tend to the hagiographical they can still contain much useful information. Those societies run by academics to pool knowledge about their chosen writer, whilst often marred by the exclusionary language so regularly employed by intellectuals, can still provide the general reader with much that is useful and insightful. Here is a small number of links to predominantly UK literary society sites (a lot of these links came via information provided on the useful Alliance of Literary Societies website).
